Lookbook || Wearable Vintage

No shopping is as thrilling as shopping vintage, but the challenge lies in styling unique pieces into your daily wardrobe. While working with a one-of-a-kind piece, just remember to have fun with it! It's 2014, and as one of our New Year's resolutions, it's time to step out of the box and get creative with what we wear.

Ralph Lauren Rugby blouse, vintage skirt, Etienne Aigner boots
When we see midi skirts, we always think of Mad Men (or at least Yvonne does). To avoid going into complete costume territory, play down the volume of the skirt with a sleek white button up. Midi skirts are also perfect for pairing with boots for the winter--- you get to wear a skirt, but don't have to bear your legs to the frigid January air.

vintage plaid blazer, vintage Pink Floyd band tee, vintage plaid pants, black pumps
I'm obsessed with plaid right now, to the point that I would wear it head to toe. But wearing a full on suit can be scary, so just throw on an old standby like a well-loved tee to make the look less stiff. When in a zoot suit, it's okay to pay homage to the '80s! Afterall, it is everyone's favorite decade.

vintage Gap sweater, UO knee high socks, Cooperative loafers
When it's 17 degrees outside (yes, it really is), who doesn't want to crawl into their favorite cable-knit sweater? This sweater is a throwback to the Boy Meets World wardrobe of the '90s, but looks perfectly collegiate for romps on campus.

vintage velvet shift dress
Velvet is another one of my favorite winter fabrics, but it can be tricky to style, depending on the piece. A good gateway velvet wardrobe addition would be a velvet dress in a classic silhouette. Treat it like any LBD, then you can't go wrong.

vintage princess coat
One of our best vintage scores was this periwinkle blue coat. Striking in a sea of black coats in the winter, it's the best investment to cheer up your outfit.

vintage YSL blazer
A girl can never have too many blazers. I have oh, probably a solid 10 or so. Vintage blazers are the best because they always have very sharp tailoring and are made of quality fabrics. You can throw a blazer over any tee or sweater, and be polished in .5 seconds.
